Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information this website collects, why we collect it, how it is stored and what control you have over it.
1. Who we are
Web Dreams is a web design, development and digital growth agency. We redevelop, modernise and upgrade websites for businesses, and we provide related services such as search engine optimisation, digital marketing, social media, advertising, mobile applications and business automation.
In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Web Dreams. “You” refers to anyone visiting this website or contacting us through it.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us voluntarily
When you complete a form on this website — for example the website assessment request on our contact page — we collect the details you enter. Depending on the form, this may include:
- Your name
- Your company name
- Your email address
- Your telephone number (if you provide it)
- The website address you would like us to review
- The service you are enquiring about
- An indicative project budget range (if you select one)
- The content of your message
Please do not send sensitive personal information, payment details or confidential documents through this website. We will arrange a secure method for anything of that nature.
Information collected automatically
Our web hosting infrastructure may record standard technical information when a page is requested, such as the IP address of the connection, the page requested, the time of the request and the browser or device type reported by your browser. This information is used for security, troubleshooting and reliability, and to prevent abuse of our forms.
Form submissions — spam protection
To prevent automated abuse, our forms use a signed token, a hidden field that only automated software tends to complete, and a basic per-connection rate limit. When a submission passes these checks, our server stores a short-lived record of the submitting IP address to enforce the rate limit. These records are automatically ignored after one hour.
3. How we use your information
We use the information you provide solely to:
- Respond to your enquiry and answer your questions
- Prepare and discuss a website assessment, proposal or scope of work
- Provide services you have asked us to provide, if you engage us
- Keep a record of our correspondence and of work we are asked to do
- Protect this website from spam, abuse and security threats
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not add you to a marketing mailing list because you submitted an enquiry: if we ever send you marketing communication, you will always be able to unsubscribe, and we will only do so where you have asked us to or where it is otherwise permitted.
4. How your enquiry is delivered and stored
Form submissions are delivered to us by email, so the content of your enquiry is processed by the email service associated with our domain. Our web host also keeps a private back-up copy of each submission in a folder that is not publicly accessible through the website, so that an enquiry is not lost if an email fails to arrive.
Access to that folder is restricted and served only from the same hosting account that runs this website.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
This website is designed to work without advertising or tracking cookies. By default it sets no cookies for analytics or marketing purposes.
If we later add a privacy-respecting analytics service to understand which pages are useful, this policy will be updated to describe it before it is enabled, and any consent control required by law will be added at that time.
6. Service providers
We rely on a small number of providers to operate this website and our business, and your information may be processed by them strictly as needed:
- Web hosting and email: the hosting provider that serves this website and delivers our email
- Domain and DNS: the registrar and DNS provider for web-dreams.com
- Business tools: the email client, document storage and invoicing tools we use to run client work
Each provider processes information on our instructions and under their own contractual and legal obligations.
7. How long we keep information
Enquiries that do not become projects are kept only for as long as they are useful for answering your question and understanding our own pipeline. Client records relating to a signed engagement are kept for as long as the relationship continues and afterwards for as long as we are required to keep records for tax, accounting and legal purposes.
Rate-limit records are ignored after one hour and are not used for any other purpose.
8. Your rights and choices
Subject to the law that applies where you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date
- Delete information we no longer need to hold
- Stop using your information for a particular purpose
- Provide a copy of the information you have given us
To make any of these requests, contact us through the contact page and describe what you would like us to do. We may need to verify that a request comes from the person it concerns. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country or region.
9. Security
This website is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are validated on the server, stripped of anything that could be used to inject additional email headers, and limited in size and rate to reduce abuse. Access to hosting accounts is restricted and protected by strong authentication, and software is kept up to date.
No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If we ever became aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we would notify affected individuals and the relevant authorities without undue delay.
10. Links to other websites
Our website may link to third-party websites, tools or resources. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information, and this policy does not apply to them. Please review their own privacy information.
11. Children
This website is intended for business use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how this website handles information, we will update this page and change the date shown at the top. Material changes affecting existing enquiries will be communicated to the people concerned where we are able to do so.
13. Contact
Questions about this policy, or about the information we hold, can be sent through our contact form. Please mention “Privacy” in your message so it is routed correctly.
Questions about your data?
Ask us and we will answer plainly — what we hold, why we hold it and how to have it removed.
